Why Pay For Expensive Custom Articles?

It has never been easier to get content written and for so cheap… but why are people still paying enormous prices for custom written content when they really could get the same thing for a fraction of the cost?

Let me give you an example…

There are two marketers, I will call them “A” and “B”. They both have a blog in the “save energy” niche and are needing an article written about how to save energy at home. Marketer “A” decides that they will hire a ghost writer for a custom written article that they will use as their blog post.

Marketer “B” on the other hand is a member of a private label right article site (like many of us) which offers a bunch of articles on many different topics each month. Last month they downloaded from that site a few articles about saving energy at home. So they decide to hire a ghost writer to re-write one of the articles and use that as a post on their blog.

With that scenario in mind, after a few articles a month, which marketer do you think is paying more per article?

When posting their article, both marketer A and B have an original article that isn’t found anywhere else online, yet marketer B spends less in the long run… a lot less.

Here’s another point to consider. What if marketer B re-writes the article them self? Maybe you are not good at writing articles, then why not use a program like WordFlood that allows you to easily edit any article, and still keep its readability?

Sure, marketer B has to pay for their monthly membership which would cost a bit more in the short term, but if you are serious about getting new content on your sites on a regular basis, then this is the only way to go!

You don’t need to spend $10 or $20 for a custom written article, when you can get one a lot cheaper by re-writing PLR articles!

Let be clear on one point, I do understand that there are times when someone really does need custom content, but I think for the majority of the time it’s most likely a big waste of money.

In the same vein as your thoughts on article writing…You can go to the freelance bidding sites and get an article written or rewritten for just a few bucks. Some of the freelancers will write a 500 word article for only $1 or $2, and will rewrite one for the same price. You do have to be careful though, as English is a not a first language for many of the freelancers on these sites. You can end up spending a lot of time editing the content to correct the grammar and spelling. It’s a good deal overall though, as long as you know what to expect beforehand.

    Joel,

My thoughts exactly. As you said many of us are members of a private label article site which we can download PLR articles from each month and rewrite them or have them rewritten cheaply.

For instance, the private label article site which I am a member of, not only do they provide you plenty of PLR articles for members use, they also provide two private label ebooks along with sales letter, and graphics each month.

Another great feature which my PLR article membership site provide is that members can request PLR articles to be written for them by other members. This is at no extra cost.

However, the best feature of the PLR articles site membership I belong to is the fact that if a member writes and submits 1 article a month to be used by other members… your small monthly membership fee is reimbursed to you each and every month. So in a nutshell, you get everything for free.

So, as you say, “why pay for expensive custom articles? Personally, I have only paid for custom articles once. That is because I was breaking into a new niche, needed a bunch of articles fast, and din’t feel like wrting, or rewriting them myself. And, I was able to find a good English speaking writer through the Warrior Forum that only charged $5 per article.

All in all, with great PLR articles memberships, and good article rewriting software now available, it should be a very rare need to pay for expensive custom articles.

I think the trick for some of us who are still writing our own content, articles and blog posts, is finding a good PLR membership.

Most I’ve seen offer packages that are all over the map. Which means for months there may be nothing you need or want, yet you’re paying for it anyway.

I have enough ‘never going to use’ ebooks, articles, etc cluttering my hard-drive, the last thing I’d want is to join a ‘250 products a month’ PLR membership just for the joy of saying ….oooo, all this great stuff that is irrelevant to my business focus.

With that said, how do you go about finding good PLR? What’s the criteria to gauge if the content is good or bad before you spend the money?

    Joel,

Great points. The first couple of times that I had an info product done, I ‘hired’ it out to a ghostwriter.

Don’t get me wrong, the quality of the material was very good, but the only reason I hired out was because I didn’t feel comfortable at the time doing the writing on my own.

After having seen the quality of some of the info products that I have either downloaded or purchased over the years, I have begun to rewrite PLR material on my own. I find that process lets me write the material in my own ‘voice’ and I can edit it however I feel like it.

Now the only thing I have to master is editing ebook covers with Photoshop or some other software so that I can make them ‘my own’.
