What To Do With Your Private Label Rights

If you received any of my emails over the past few weeks, or maybe some from another marketer, you may have taken advantage of one of the best giveaways that the Internet has, the Free PLR Giveaway.

If you are unaware of this giveaway, the title basically says what it is. It’s a giveaway where many top marketers offer a new free gift with unrestricted private label rights. It’s not just a product giveaway where the owner puts a ton of their links in the product to give away… no, these are full plr products. The gift that I offered was a new graphics pack that I made specifically for this giveaway.

Needless to say, many more people like this giveaway over the normal master/no rights giveaways.

Now that the giveaway is over and you have a bunch more plr products to use… how are you going to use them? How are you going to get the most out of them? You didn’t have to pay for them, but you still want to use them the best that you can.

There are many ways that you can use private label rights products, that’s the beauty of them. But it does depend on what the product is, as to how you might want to use and edit them.

Here are a few ideas to help you with your new plr products;

    PLR eBooks
  • On the easy side, you can simply add your name as the author, maybe change the title, then start selling it.
  • If you have multiple plr ebooks on the same topic, you can add them together to make one big guide.
  • Similar to the above… if you have a few plr products on the same topic, bundle them together to create a great “all information in one spot” package.
  • You can break up the ebook into smaller reports to give away, or sell for a cheaper price.
  • You can also break up the ebook and use the content as a newsletter/ecourse.
  • You can even add the the ebook, get it recorded to audio to add value.
    PLR Software
  • Software can be a bit different when it comes to editing it and branding it. But one thing you should always do, and this goes for ebooks and every other plr product you have, you should change the ecover image for the product. If you can not actually edit the software, at least edit the ecover.
  • If you know a bit about programming, or if you are willing to pay someone, you can get them to edit the software to change the name and maybe even change the whole look of the interface.
  • Depending on the software, you might be able to sell it as a physical item on a cd. This will cost a bit more to deliver, but you can make up for that in the higher price, since many people will pay more if it’s a physical item.
  • Again, you can also just turn around and start selling it or giving it away to help build your list.
    PLR Graphics
  • With plr graphics I am talking about web site graphics like headers, buy buttons, and ecover images.
  • As with graphics that you have private label rights to, you should have also received the original .psd file along with the .jpg file. Having the .psd file (or the original file for the program that was used to make them) will allow you to edit them before selling them.
  • If you have a big collection of plr graphics, you can make a big graphics package to sell them all. Or divide them up into smaller similar style bundles.
    PLR Videos
  • We are even starting to see plr videos being sold… wow! This is great for us Internet marketers. We can now show people how to do something, or take them through a process, allowing many more customers to take full advantage of the product. Not everyone learns by reading, so it’s good to see videos teaching a topic as well.
  • If you have video production programs, you might be able to edit and add in your own content to the video, however many of us don’t have these programs.
  • But there is a web service that does allow you to add your own text over top of a video. This can be a great way to add information or even web site url’s into the video.
  • Again, be sure to edit the ecover for the plr videos that you have. Have a professional make them for you if you are unsure about doing it yourself.

These are some of the many ways that you can edit private label rights products that you have, but there are a lot more ways as well. For your specific plr product and for your specific market, there can be many other ways that can add value to the original product.

For instance, have you thought about taking plr products offline, into the “real world”? How easy would it be to bring a printed ebook to your local business supply store to have them bind it into a physical book? All it takes is a little creativity to realize how powerful this can become.

For the most of us though, we will never go offline with our info products, and that’s o.k. But when you do edit and resell your plr products, always try to make them better then what they originally were. Think of how you can add value to them and how you can make then unique.

If you would like some one-on-one coaching to help you master your plr products, I have set up a special offer for you here. I am willing to personally coach you through the process of editing and making your plr products unique, for a full month with unlimited email coaching sessions.

Just to be clear, this is not some high priced month after month coaching that I am offering. This is a very affordable month of unlimited email coaching support from myself on the topic of getting the most out of your plr products.

If you are interested, visit my Internet marketing coaching page here for more details. However I can only accept a handful of clients at this time, very limited, so please be sure to visit there if you even have the slightest interest.

I hope that you take what I have written here and go put it to good use, making the most that you can with your plr products.

To Your PLR Success!

    Joel,
This is great advice! Too many newbies don’t realize that a PLR product CAN be the information product that all their “Internet Marketing 101″ guides tell them they need to sell! I have used PLR products effectively as bonuses to info products that I have written and sell.
The PLR videos are extremely exciting.
Thanks for the great advice. Hats off to you for being one of the few gurus who uses his blog to pass on real information and not just ads for the latest “big release.”

OK, I am an Old Dummy. I have yet to see anyone try to tell a newbie HOW to go about selling an ebook. I suppose for anyone who has ever done it, it is too simple to think about, but for someone who has never done it? I don’t mean how to advertise, select a price, personalize, or anything like that. I mean do you need your own website? How do you load it? How do you set up a squeeze page? If you want to sell it on ebay, can you? How do you go about it? I mean, what about the very basic basics? Everything I have ever read assumes the PLR purchaser knew how to do this before he bought the rights. First time buyers don’t, and from what I see and hear I have to believe that many never do anything with these rights because they do not know how to set this up and don’t know where to go to find out.

Great advice. The thing about loading your computer with PLR products is:
    Now what?
    Where do you start?
Do you need to edit them?
Do you need to edit any of the graphics, sales letters, website templates?
They are worthless unless you do something with them!
I think your advice on this subject is straight forward easy to understand.
If that leaves your readers with even more questions I’m sure they can drop you an email or they can drop me one for that matter. bill@billthecoach.com

    Keep up the good work!

    Great Post, Joel!

Wish we’d had this when Xavier and I launched Round 3 of FreePLR - this post would have reduced the confusion for our participants, particularly the newer users.

Have you considered bringing out a book on using PLR? As one of the experts in it, you have a lot to offer…

    All the best,

    Teri & Doug Champigny.

Thanks for the great post Joel.
That’s a great break-down of private label rights.
Many people are leaving money on the table if they are not incorporating this into their business model.

    Great post, Joel.

I’ve used a number of PLR products as the basis for new products to sell and for lead generation. Your advice is excellent.

Anyone that reads this post and takes action will see positive results. And I’d definitely advise anyone that’s serious about using PLR products to check out your coaching program.

I worked with a coach when I first got started. I know it can save you a ton of time and money in the long run. There’s no sense in learning everything the hard way when you can learn from someone that’s already been there.
