Is This Spam?

I try to post about positive topics here on my blog, but I guess these past few days I just keep seeing more things that I just don’t understand. Understand why people do it.

My little rant today is about a certain type of spam. I think that this is still considered spam, but please comment if it really isn’t.

Like a lot of Internet Marketers, I have a few mailing lists. A few days ago I sent a broadcast out to my subscribers. I get the usual autoresponder messages come back within a few hours, that’s fine, I don’t mind them.

But today I received an email, which at first I thought was the normal spam, but as I looked further at it, I noticed that it was actually a reply to my broadcast. I sent the broadcast a few days ago, so this is not a simple autoresponder with an ad in it. The person actually replied to my email with an ad about their new “system”.

Now if they replied and wrote a personal message at the top of the email… well then legally at least, it could be considered as a personal email. But there was no personal part to this reply at all.

Is this still considered spam? They were the one who signed up to MY list, I never signed up to their list. Just because someone emails you, do you now have the right to reply with an ad to them? If so… I wonder how many big names I can promote too now? :)

Anyway… to say the least, they are no longer on my list.
