Header Graphics For Your Site

Whenever you make a web site you will have to ask the question “Am I going to have graphics for my site? Will I have a header graphic?”. However, depending on what kind of web site you are starting will generally determine if you decide to use a header graphic or not.

Just to make it clear, a header graphic is normally a rectangle image at the top of a site with the web site’s title, slogan, and sometimes the url. It is made to be the first thing people see then coming to the page, and to give a quick overview of what the site is about.

I am not a professional, and I have not really tested anything about this, so what I am writing now is just what I think is best.

So on that note, When should you use a header graphic?

I would think for any niche web site/blog you should use a header graphic. Because like I said, it gives a brief explanation of the site when they first arrive there. Plus a good graphic can add credibility to your site.

However a site where you will want to test and may not always want a header graphic, is a sales page. I think that for a sales page the first thing you want someone to see is your headline. Using a header graphic is something that should be tested with any major web site, like a sales page, for a site that you plan to keep around and make a lot of money from.

I personally make all of my graphics myself, but if you are making niche web sites or are someone who just needs a lot of different header graphics, then you might want to keep a watch here on my blog. You might find a post here in the next week or so that you may like.
