Do What’s Popular
I think too many times Internet marketers, myself included, try to re-invent the wheel. We want to create that new amazing product that everyone is going to love and make a lot of money in the process.
That’s all find and dandy :), but how often can you come up with that new amazing product idea? For me… I’m still waiting for my first idea. Needless to say, those ideas don’t come around often.
But instead of trying to create a brand new, super-duper product, why not take what is already out there and re-work it? This isn’t a new idea, to make an existing product better, but I think it’s a concept that many of us forget about.
Take a look around, see that others are doing now, see what’s popular. Then think of a way that you can re-work that, make it different, and make it your own.
I am in the process of doing that now with a new project.
A few weeks ago I began to notice other products being created along the same lines as each other, which got me thinking. I could create a product just like those, and I even know how I can differentiate myself from them. So I started thinking and doing a bit of research, and now I have the project in full swing.
The great thing is, my idea is not new, others have been doing it for years, but I put my own twist on it. And since the main idea has been around for awhile, I know that this new project will succeed. There are many products along the same lines that are all successful, but by adding my own ideas I can make my product unique and stand out.
If I was to create a brand new product, there would be much more risk involved, as you really do not know if it would succeed or not. But by using a successful idea, I can be much comfortable with taking the risk.
Take a look at products and sites that you come across and think to yourself, “How can I make this unique?”, “How can I make this better?”, or even “How can I compliment this idea?”.
