Are You Building Your List?
Over the past few weeks I have added many more new subscribers to my email list. Have you done the same?
I remember when I was first starting out, I thought that it would take forever to build my list up to a level where I can make even a small side income per month. I was only focusing on one aspect of driving traffic to my subscription form, and that was from natural search traffic. Search traffic is good and it can lead to a lot of new subscribers, but it is more of a long term list building tactic.
It wasn’t until I started a new web site which offered a totally free product that I started to see my list grow. I offered a new original product that people were looking and was hot at that time. This caused people to link back to my site and tell others about it.
If you are not yet seeing the numbers you would like to see in your autoresponder, then consider creating a brand new product that a lot of people want and would normally pay for, but give it to them for free.
By joining some upcoming giveaways as a contributor, you can also add your new gift for the thousands of people to see who will go through the giveaway. This is one of the easiest ways to get new subscribers to your list.
Consider joining the following two giveaways as a contributor;

Hi, Joel!
Great article! There’s a direct correlation between list-size and online income - both for sales of your own products and for promoting affiliate links. Your ever-growing list has helped you be the top Team Champigny Affiliate Force affiliate to this point this year, so you’ll probably be Affiliate of the Year for 2008.
Anyone working from hiome trying to make a living online, or even just a few extra dollars each month, would do well to bookmark your blog and subscribe to your e-zine!
Congratulations - keep building your list and keep up the great performance online!

Joel,
I would have to agree with this 100%. I started building my list by joining the giveaways and giving away a free product. It does take some time to get going even this way and can be daunting at first. As you get more subscribers you are able to get your gift closer to the front page and in turn get more subscribers per giveaway.
Over time I have begun to get more subscribers coming in from the search engines and viral products that I have given away.

Joel,
I wholeheartedly agree with you about building your list through giveaways.
The more popular and heavily promoted the giveaway is, the more subscribers you are likely to get.
I have realized the benefits of doing so myself the past few months and am looking forward to the giveaways coming up in the next few weeks.
I have also started building through a couple of links on my blog.
